Track: Florida is Sleeping Next to Me

My practice researches the constant flux of processing of our collective sound environment. My composition work focuses on recycling and diffusing sound through a hybrid intertwining process that weaves together disparate genre qualities. I am curious how composition can represent the transformation of sound in the process I call a recycling listening. 

This composition uses the style of dub mixing and composition ideas from genre-blending music. I use stems from disparate samples of my own recordings, and other manipulated samples. I employ the style of recycled listening by taking my own recording experiences as well as other people's listening experiences represented through audio recording. I combine them to create a new sound space from deconstruction. I want the track to sound like it is eating itself, and reforming.
